Peace and Blessings everyone! I'm Deletta Gillespie, singer/songwriter, performing artist, and director of NuRelik Performance Workshop, a company that creates work that highlights social, education, historical, and spiritual topics. This is a video appeal for funds for Spring to Life III - Triumphant, my annual benefit concert. This year's concert features my cd release - TRIUMPH(ant), and proceeds will be donated to The Samaritan Women, an organization in Baltimore dedicated to helping the survivors of human trafficking.
My cd is an eclectic mix of music, grounded in classic soul and r&b, and includes music in the genres of reggae, blues, jazz, adult contemporary, dance/house, and inspirational.
I am donating 10% from the sale of TRIUMPH(ant), and a minimum of 10% of the gate receipts to The Samaritan Women. I am here on GoFundMe to raise funds to cover the expenses of mounting the concert, so that a larger percentage of ticket revenue will go to The Samaritan Women. I'll use the money to pay for gathering permits, event liability insurance, sound reinforcement, and musician's salaries.
The concert is on June 9, 2013 from 4:30 - 7:30 pm at The Murphy Fine Arts Center on the campus of Morgan State University - Baltimore. The show features a live band, as well as guest artists Teporah Bilezikian and Ama Chandra.
