Corrine's Great Peruvian Expedition
Hello everyone! :)
My name is Corrine Matlak and I am a senior undergraduate student at Wagner College in NYC. Currently, I am working towards an Arts Administration degree, with an anthropology minor, as well as a film minor. Crazy combo, right? It all makes sense--I promise! I will be pursuing a career in nonfiction / documentary filmmaking after my degree. Specifically, I want to use film to help educate and provoke curiosity amongst audiences about the world around them!
This summer I will be travelling to Trujillo, Peru to conduct bioarchaeological research with Prof. Celeste Gagnon. We will be identifying, analyzing, and organizing human remains excavated in nearby sites. I am incredibly grateful to have been invited to experience this awesome opportunity! Along with the lab-work I will be doing, I will also be documenting both the research and the travelling to produce a short film at the end of the summer. The film will highlight international research that Wagner students conduct as well as explain the importance of bioarchaeological research! There will be crazy cool footage!
This is where you guys come in! I'm looking to my community to help me experience this remarkable opportunity. Any and all donations will help me begin pursuing my dream of combining science and art! Donations will go towards the costs of tuition, international airfare, and camera equipment.
If you are interested in seeing my first short film (shot for my Documentary Filmmaking class!), it is posted here!: http://youtu.be/-0C_A5B-5Rs
Thank you so much for the support that has gotten be this far! And thank you in advance for any help you can provide to make this chance of a lifetime come true! :)
