On April 3, 2015, our lives were forever changed with the sudden loss of our perfect little 8 years young cowboy, Cole Howard DePriest, who was in a tragic accident Friday afternoon riding horses and doing what he loved most.
Cole was the son of Colette and David DePriest and the little brother to Abigail DePriest of Tenaha, TX. Cole also left behind his amazing grandparents who he loved very much, Dianne and Roland Cross of Tenaha, TX, and Edna and Joe DePriest of Clarksville, TX. He also held his Aunt Sis (Cicily Cross Blair) very close to his heart along with his Uncle Jason Blair and cousin Cason Blair. Anyone that ever had the opportunity to meet Cole would not forget him that is for sure. He was a one of a kind one man show. Cole's smile and personality was so infectious to those around him and always knew what to say at the perfect time. Cole would always go out of his way to greet you with the warmest hugs and of course update you with the latest news.
Cole's passion for horses and rodeo was very obvious to those around him. Cole was a member and leader of the National Champion East Texas Equestrian Rustler Drill Team. Cole was also an active member of the PYRA. Cole was not just a cowboy but he was also a beast on the basebal field as well. You could always count on Cole to be on an all star team at the end of every baseball season. If he wasnt in boots, spurs and a cowboy hat riding around with his grandfather taking care of the cattle, you would be sure to find him in cleats and a baseball cap. There were many times that you found him in his baseball uniform with his boots riding horses.
The Cole-Man Scholarship Foundation has been founded to support hard working individuals that portray selfless service, outgoing personalities just like those of Cole's and also those who have the drive and motivation to further their education in remembrance of our hero, Cole-Man.
