With deep pride, my son, Edwin-Jeremiah Carnell Hughes is asking for support as he begins college:
"I am raising money to pay room and board for my freshman year at a wonderfully successful prestigious HBCU, the one and only Morehouse College. I want to tell you a bit about my educational background so you can be assured that your contribution will not be wasted. First off, I am an avid scholar. I truly believe that knowledge is power and that knowledge is the most important key to life’s success. Growing up in a military home, I moved around from school to school, working through challenges such as course credit transfers and curriculum requirements that differed from state to state. Many students in my situation may have toppled under the pressure of academic studies and changing social networks, but I did not. Through it all, I stayed true to what's important and went on to receive my high school diploma at 16 years old and was accepted to Morehouse College at 17 years old. I was awarded a scholarship of $12,000 a year, a Pell Grant of $4,000, and received loans totaling $9,500. Unfortunately, we have been unable to get enough to cover housing and food so I need your help! Would you consider donating to help me continue on my journey as a Morehouse Man? Any contribution is greatly appreciated. For those who do decide to contribute I truly say thank you in advance." Thank You!!!
