Until February 22nd 2017 I was your average 27 year old guy working hard to advance in life and purchase a home to start a family and then I got the news, "Mr. Talmadge you have Lymphoma".

Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma to be exact

I'm really big on thinking positive but even for myself it threw me for a loop... So many questions:

Why me?

How?

Is this curable?

etc. etc. etc.

My surgeon referred me to a great oncologist and prognosis... it is curable!

obviously not a guarantee but I'm a optimist and with the support of you all and my family I know my future will be even brighter than prior to my diagnosis.

Treatment:

4 sessions of chemotherapy (a session every 3 weeks) and Radiation (Hopefully).

along with a slew of drugs to help with the side effects.

I know there is a long road ahead I still have to follow up on the initial biopsy that discovered the lymphoma in my right groin which may require additional surgery to control drainage in the area; I have some pain since the initial biopsy in my inner right thigh that may be a blood clot but requires a ultrasound to determine; and I will need a port inserted in my chest prior to starting chemotherapy for starters.

With your help I will be able to beat cancer and hopefully move into my first home before the end of 2017 making me the first out of my immediate family to do either.

In the words of Paul Ryan "Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together."  I know this to be true and I have the upmost faith that we can beat CANCER together!!!
