Cross Cultural Trip to Ireland!
Hi friends! My name is Cassidy Kelley and I'm from Dallas, Georgia and currently attending Lee Univesity in Cleveland, TN. As part of its undergrad program, Lee requires cross-cultural engagement of all its students and I have the amazing opportunity of organizing my own Cross Cultural experience to Ireland for two weeks this summer! I'm blessed to attend such an amazing, Christ-Centered school and to be able to travel to another country as I enter my junior year. I am confident that this trip will grant me amazing and unique opportunity and give me memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
In comparison to Lee's trip to Ireland that is conducted over Spring Break every year, I estimate that my individual trip (which is about five days longer than the trip with the school) should be roughly half the cost. By planning my own trip, I am able to stay with friends in Ireland, thereby saving living expenses, and also embark to other places within the U.K. that I may otherwise not have been able to travel to. The most expensive part of my trip, however, is the flight from Atlanta to Dublin. As I'll be traveling during the high tourism season, the cost of the flight ranges from $1,200 to $1,500.
In addition to the expenses in Ireland, the trip in total should cost around $2,000. As a student in school working part time on campus while taking a full load of classes, this cost will be rather difficult to reach on my own. With expenses such as gas, groceries, books, and other things that go along with being enrolled at an out of state school, any bit of money towards this trip will be very helpful. Thank you in advance for your support - please spread the word to anyone you know. Any amount, even just $10, will mean the world.
"And he said to them, 'Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.'" -Mark 16:15 ESV
