In 2013, Friends of Carolyn Ross Lyme Treatment Fund successfully raised enough money to pay for her surgery in New York City. There was enough money left over from the fundraiser to pay for some of Carolyn’s medical expenses over the past couple of years, but the funds in her medical trust have now been depleted.
Carolyn’s surgery was successful, but it was not a cure for Lyme disease. It was a specific surgery needed at the time to alleviate a serious complication of Lyme. She continues to struggle with the disease, both physically and financially.
We are resuming the campaign to raise money for Carolyn’s continuing medical expenses. As many of you know, Lyme disease treatment is not covered by insurance, and all doctor visits and treatments are paid for out-of-pocket. This is an overwhelming challenge for all Lyme disease patients and their families.
