Captain Robbie Robinson

Captain Robbie Robinson is a past fire chief of the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department, lifelong Solomons charter fishing captain, and Solomons native needs our help.

Whether it be taking locals and tourists out on fishing trips to catch the "big one" or volunteering in order to help protect his fellow neighbors, friends, and family, Captain Robbie has a heart of gold and a true sense of pride and commitment to his local community.   Captain Robbie has served as a volunteer at the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department for many years as a dedicated volunteer and serveral of those years as the overall chief in the department in the early 80s.  To this day, you can come into the department in the early morning and the Captain will be there, sitting in the engine bay with his cup of coffee to greet anyone who chooses to come by.

Many of us volunteers have wonderful stories on how the Captain has made an impact in our lives.  I, myself, remember one story in particular when I was learning to becoming a pump operator.  The Captain would tell us that the best hose pressue was when you cranked it up high enough that it lifted the firefighters off the ground.  Then you let the pressure back down until they touched the ground again and that is the ideal pump pressure.

In addition to the many years he has served us in Solomons, Captain Robbie is also a US veteran and proud of it to this day.  He continues to support his brothers and sisters in arms every year by proudly taking the Wounded Warriors out for a free chartered fishing trip aboard the Miss Regina II which he has been operating since the late 70s out of Solomons, MD.

In recent times, the Captain has come to battle with some medical problems, pneumonia and congested heart failure, in which he now needs us, his local community, to come to his rescue.  We, the Solomons Volunteers, are raising money to help with the expenses he is going to be challenged with in the coming months and are asking any and everyone if they could help us.

In the coming weeks, I will be interviewing many of our long time members of the department and add more stories to this site on how the Captain has impacted their lives.  Thank you for taking the time to read our campaign and donate to our cause.
