Building A Classroom In Ndento CMR

In Loving Memory of Bernard Ladem!
The Cameroonian Association of Greater Philadelphia is lending our hands to the continual of Bernard Ladem’s legacy with this gofundme campaign. The funds will help his family with the completion of a school in Ndento, Cameroon as we hope to commemorate and celebrate the memory of our beloved friend. Finally, we will inaugurate the new school by naming it after our friend and installing a commemorative plate on site in his honor.
 The desire to build a bilingual junior high school (College d’Education  Secondaire  Bilingue) in his village Ndento, was a cherished  dream of our dear friend the late Bernard Ladem (Bernie) as local children had to cover 22 miles to get the the nearest school.  Unfortunately he was unable to bring his vision to fruition though he initiated the administrative procedures for the project with the local authorities in Fongo Tongo Subdivision, who approved it the week of his untimely passing in 2010. In an effort to prolong his legacy , his family has undertaken the execution of  the school starting with his father who temporarily offered his house, which Bernie built in Ndento, to be used as a classroom for local children. Furthermore to push the project along, we repurposed the village’s cultural home into a classroom. Bernie’s family strives to fulfill their beloved son’s wish and achieve his dream of seeing the children of his village receive the key to a better future, an education.  So far this year, they constructed two smaller classrooms which though still unfinished, with no windows,had been split into 4 rooms using improvised dividers to house 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th grade classes.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 which will help build a new  classroom, finish the existing classrooms, and provide various school supplies to local students.
