Delray Beach Barwick Workout Park

Strengthen, Tone & get your Cardio on in a new outdoor gym, conveniently located in Delray Beach's local Barwick Park.

Hello, our names are Christelle Singh and Talia Vessal, we are currently seniors at Atlantic Community High School, International Baccalaureate Career Program (IBCP), concentrating in drafting and engineering.    

Our high school is located in Delray Beach, Florida,  a vibrant city, building its reputation for restaurants and nightlife in the East and sprawling homes in the West.  As you may be aware, the City is regenerating some of the more blighted areas. We believe it would be very beneficial to have a public area to work out and be healthy.

With our school's support and regular meetings with the Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department, we have gotten approval by the city to raise funds and build the first public outdoor gym in Delray Beach!

Initially, this project began on paper as an IBCP assignment. But quickly evolved into a great opportunity to improve our drafting and engineering knowledge, start our careers, and leave our mark in Delray Beach. We believe building an outdoor workout gym perfects some of the City's plans already in place. This park is inspired by our desire to create a healthier community, mentally and physically.

Barwick park already has a 1¼ mile long running trail, a children's playground, a large field used for sporting events, pavilions and much more! We believe that adding workout equipment will compliment the park. Some of the equipment we are looking to add is, elliptical machine, leg press, chest press, pull-up bars, dipping bars and an abdominal bench, and more. We need your help to fund the installation of the new gym equipment . This Barwick Park Outdoor Gym is truly a great asset for our community and we would be honored for you to be a meaningful part of it.
