Anna's Westminster Kennel Club Jr Trip

When I was two years old I stepped foot into the world of dog showing officially as I entered the ring with for my first time. In the sixteen years between then and now, I have finished dogs, won groups, taken breed at a national, and have won Best Junior Handler multiple times. One of my goals this past year was to qualify for the Westminster Kennel Club dog show in New York before I aged out of juniors in April. In order to qualify, I had to win Best Junior Handler seven times over competition. With a lot of hard work and an overwhelming support group of friends, I was able to qualify in just three months- making me the first person in the Pacific Northwest to qualify.

As Westminster approaches, the worry of cost hangs heavily for me. Though I have been doing fundraisers and am working, dog shows are expensive and Westminster is certainly no exception. This is my last chance to go to Westminster as a junior and I really do not want to miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime simply because I could not afford it. Currently I am raising money for the cost of a motel, transportation, and to ship my incredible juniors dog, Promise (as pictured with me in the profile picture).
Outside of the world of dog showing, I am very active in 4-H and am currently going to college. I am going to school to get an English major and hope to be a lawyer one day, though I plan to always show dogs. I graduated from high school last spring. In high school, I was in band (played the trombone), did stage crew for drama, competed with the state's most competitive high school debate team, participated in ASB, and was the XO (Executive Officer-2^nd in command) of my school's MCJROTC (Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps). I also keep bees with my father.
