I'm fundraising to access Medical Treatment which is unavailable to me via the NHS.
I have a life threatening illness called Adrenal Insufficiency and the only medication currently available to me (tablet hydrocortisone) is not working effectively.
I dont absorb these tablets correctly and as a result my Blood pressure drops often in the night and throughout the day. I get weak, suffer fatigue, exhuastion, dizzyness and nausea.
I spend a lot of my time sick at home, or going to hospital and have spent a lot of time in the past 3 years in hospital with Adrenal Issues. Each time I have an Adrenal Crisis I am at risk of dying. I need to get my condition better managed to improve my chances of better quality of life.
In order to get the treatment I need, (continuous hydrocortisone infusion therapy) I need to save to see a specialist with experience with the Adrenal Pump. The only private speicalist I can find is in London.
I need to save for appointments, the cost of medical tests, including expensive day curves, the cost of purchasing the adrenal pump, (similar to a diabeic pump) costs of setting it up and then the ongoing medication cost.
