Adam Cole's Love for Lucy

Donation protected
Adam had a profound effect on everyone he encountered, and so does his beloved dog, Lucy. Lucy is a lab/boxer mix that Adam adopted from the Sonoma County Humane Society (SCHS) in July 2013. Since the SCHS had no more room for puppies, we served as foster home for Lucy and her five brothers. The first thing Lucy did when she jumped out of the car was to eat a shrimp she zeroed in on that was laying on the ground - except that it was also attached to a fish hook. Lucy ended up swallowing the shrimp, hook and line. From that moment on, Lucy was with Adam - she went just about everywhere with him and they had a very special love for one another. About 10-12 months ago, Lucy began walking differently. Things starting progressing where she is using the leg less and less. She puts all of her weight on her front legs to go potty, and has a hard time jumping up onto even a low couch. In October, we took her to the vet and with x-rays, discovered that she has a torn cruciate. Ever since that day, Adam has been working to raise the funds necessary for her surgery. Now that Adam is gone, his family has taken on that task, and know that funding this surgery would be the most precious way Adam would want to be honored. Anything you can contribute is welcome and will help the cause. Any monies raised over and above the cost of the surgery will be donated to the Sonoma County Humane Society in Adam's name.
