Zuri Grimm (her pen name) is a 40 yr old disabled artist who has decided to go back to school. Each of the images shown on this project are her original artwork.
Her GPA is excellent at this time. With two semesters back she’s at an institutional GPA of 3.682. So you can see how serious she’s taking this second chance.
Unfortunately, when she was younger she had some medical issues that forced her completion rate to drop. Now, her financial aid has been cut off because medical issues from 20 years ago forced her to not finish classes at that time. Of course this prior stint in college has an effect on her current situation.
Her current completion rate is 63% and she needs a 67%. This is the equivalent of just one or two classes.
Zuri appealed her situation with financial aid and was denied. She is continuing to fight the decision but is afraid that she may miss one or more semesters while she tries to find the funding to complete her current course of study.
Zuri’s disability is one that keeps her out of the workforce and while she does sell an occasional piece of art, it isn’t enough to pay for classes.
She is going back to school to pursue a dream. She wants to be an anthropologist. She wants to study and help others to study lost civilizations. She wants to help others understand where we come from so that we can all better understand where we are going.
A single semester worth of school is what we are trying to raise. That’s about $3000. This will pay for four classes, books and transit to and from class.
Zuri is a hard working student who takes her education very seriously. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
