Handicap Ramp for PK Doyle's House

Donation protected
PK Doyle, is a dear friend to many of us. She is one of the founding members of Corn Productions theatre company. At the age of 60-something (I'm not asking, but you can, if you feel brave enough) she is a cancer survivor of more than 23 years. She (and her one good kidney) have been in more shows than we can count...and she has been as crass and brash and bawdy as the rest of us.

As many of you know, she has had a very challenging few months. Undetected renal cancer in her remaining kidney has spread to her hip bone and other places. Unfortunately, her cancer is now terminal. But make no mistake, our still spunky PK is not at death's door!

She has fought daily, in physical and occupational therapy and has been given permission to leave the nursing home where she has convalessed (very restlessly) for several months. The one condition of her return home, was that a ramp be built, allowing her access to her home and the freedom to come and go independently. It is her deepest desire to be able to go home and live out the remainder of her precious time as a "normal", self-sufficient human being.

It is also imperative,  as she was released from the nursing home weeks ago and they are allowing her to stay there temporarily, since she has nowhere else to go.

However, the person she trusted to make her ramp has not only failed to do the work. In her absence, this individual seems to have turned her home into a series of incomplete construction projects,  making her home uninhabitable for anyone with a disability.

Our good friend,  Joey Arca, has taken up the torch and is prepared to do the construction work needed to get our girl home as soon as possible!  Her home will likely need more work, requiring more funds, but right now, the ramp is Joey's primary objective. He (and PK) would greatly appreciate whatever you, or anyone you know, could contribute by way of funds, manpower and/or construction expertise.

** I've edited this with a higher goal because PK  called and is needing more help with the construction on her house, past her handicap ramp.**
