Dear Supporters:
I am writing on behalf of the Carolina Jazz Youth Organization, a 501(c) (3) tax-exemptnon-profit charitable organization. This is our 4th year as an official Mentoring & Leadership program and AAU Basketball Organization located in Columbia, SC. The Carolina Jazz mission is to provide a structured environment (free from drugs, tobacco, alcohol, gangs, and violence) for young men & women of all backgrounds, in which we can use education, mentoring, and athletics as a means of teaching life lessons to be productive in today's society.
Our organization is attempting to raise funds to sponsor, mentor, tutor, and train, our student athletes to compete against other AAU organizations throughout state and beyond. We currently support youth, ages 7 thru 17. As you can imagine with the cost of facility space, travel, uniforms, lodging, meals, registration fees and equipment we have a substantial overhead. We are presently soliciting support from friends, co-workers, corporate business, and communities to not only raise operating funds, but also make our student athletes presence known in South Carolina. For 2014 we are trying to raise enough funds to make this free for all our 100 youth involved. Your donation would be greatly appreciated.
