My parents Al and Rhonda have always been hard working and always did what they could for those they could. Now they need help.
In February 2015, Al had a stroke, which means he can't work, and doesn't have an estimated date he can return to work as he was an over the road truck driver for nearly his entire working life. Of course, that's not all of it.
On July 17, 2015, we brought Rhonda to the er because she was having stroke like symptoms. The CT scan showed that she didn't have a stroke, but rather had a tumor that was just shy of 2 inches in her brain. She was then transferred to Abbott Northwestern. She had brain surgery on July 22, 2015 to remove the tumor. During the surgery, she also had a small stroke. She currently is semi paralyzed on the left side of her body and has field cut vision in her left eye. The doctor believes that the tumor was milignant, and she will have to go through chemotherapy and radiation.
She has since been in the hospital for 8 days, and will likely need to go to transitional care unit before she can return home. Our family is asking for help to offset their medical bills, as well as living costs as they are now both unable to work for an indefinite amount of time. We may also have to remodel their house to make it handicap accessible, if Rhonda isnt able to regain mobility once the swelling in her brain goes down.
We are taking it one day at a time, and praying for the best. If you are able to donate, we appreciate it with all of our hearts; however, if your not, we understand, we just ask that you say prayer for her and our family.
