No other potential owner can even come close to touching this kind community outreach that this model builds as a foundation for a new kind of success.
This project's aim is to turn a fallen institution into an institution of the people, by the people, and for the people. By truly devoting this institution towards the underprivileged and underclassed people who have been systematically disenfranchised for millennia, we seek to build a brighter future for us all.

In order for this to get approved by the NBA, we're going to have to show that we're capable of being the highest bidder before we're even seriously considered.
Not only is that, but being the highest bidder will probably be the only way we'll get the franchise anyway.

I am an honest man though, and I'm actually probably taking on more personal risk right now than I am even aware of, but this is a situation where hesitating would make the whole thing fall apart I feel, so I need to move forward now.

We feel like the NBA owners, who need to vote in a three quarters majority to force the sale of the Clippers franchise, are now listening to the people. So if we can come in with a powerful amount of cash that can even overpay for a franchise that has been a blight on society AND completely turn it around to serve the people's demands, the owners will be more than willing to force the sale.

This business model is bigger than the Clippers, so if we get the money, we're buying a team.
For example, if we do all this work and the NBA owners vote not to force a sale on the Clippers specifically; we will use our considerable amount of cash to buy another franchise that does want to sell.
This business model is for long term institutional social and class growth, so we can pay more up front than most investors are willing and capitalize on our competitive advantage.
Our search beyond the Clippers will be limited to the United States and include only the four major team sports; baseball, football, basketball, or ice hockey if necessary.

What if no teams will sell to us?
The website and the payment companies have fees which I can't cover en masse and they are detailed below along with the risks.
In this event, the fees are deducted before anyone even gets the money, and the remainder will be divided equally among these four charities compiled mostly from CharityNavigator.com:
UNCF; provides scholarship assistance for African Americans who need money for college.
Goodwill Southern California; which provides vocation training for people with disabilities since 1916.
Doctors Without Borders; which creates awareness and staffs medical clinics worldwide.
Warrick Dunn Charities; which provides home ownership and economic stability for single parent families.
These are my choices only if we don't end up with a team. If we do get a team, then I'll have the resources required to conduct voting among the fans and the founders to choose where our donations go.
I don't want my donations used for political or religious contributions now or ever!
Neither do we; and the new franchise will have a zero tolerance policy towards any of our non-profits giving to religious institutions or especially political campaigns in the new charter.
We have no interests in the politics of power nor wish to infringe upon or influence any individual's free will to follow their own direction in life, so we won't be muddying any of those waters.
In addition, on a continual and consistent basis our department of donating standards will provide support to founders and fans and be used as the organization's ear for listening to the very people we serve.

Someone has to be, "The Owner," and I will be taking 2% of the gross annual revenues as my owner's salary per year. That will be the max percentage any owner can take at any time ever per the new charter.
Please note that I get zero percent of your initial donation, and I don't get a dime unless we end up with a franchise which creates revenue from which I can pull the 2% from.

What if the donations aren't enough to buy the team in full and private investment must be sought?
First of all, we would seek to take out loans to cover whatever we couldn't raise now so as not to dilute the long term non-taxable dollars we can put back into the community.
If loans have been exhausted, we will entertain private investment on a dollar for dollar match of the non-profit portion of the company based on the total purchase price on the franchise. That means your donated dollars are just as powerful as the NBA vetted investor we would have to bring in, should this occasion arise and is necessary to complete the deal.
Again, the goal is to make full faith effort to keep as many shares in the company as non-profit as possible, without jeopardizing our overall mission.

Is my donation refundable?
No. It goes in equal parts to the charities above which are dedicated to long term social and economic equality efforts: minus the site and payment processing fees levied which I can't get around.
What happens if the purchase price of the franchise is less than what was donated?
All donators get full voting rights and any surplus will go to the first year's founders' funds as determined by vote.
What are the risks/costs?
GoFundMe.com charges 5% per donation. Then there are flat processing fees by the payment companies in addition to % fees they take which means that the total costs associated with each transaction will run approximately from 7.9%- 10% in total, and is deducted from the donation itself.
So if you donate $100 in the new franchise, then the franchise will get around $92 of that $100.
So the risk is that if a franchise isn't bought with this money, you will lose the processing fees detailed just above before the remainder gets given equally across the four charities on the charity list.
There are no refunds, but after the site fees are covered, we will be sure that the money gets to where it needs to go.
Can I write this off my taxes?
