It seems we all have been impacted by cancer one way or another, such an evil and cruel illness. Sadly I write this as one of my dear friends is facing it head on in that her partner of 4 years, the man she thought she would spend many more years with, laughing, walking the dog, camping in the wilderness, sadly has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and the liklihood is that she's going to lose him much sooner than she had ever imagined. For this reason, we need your help!
In December last year Tonia and Andy both turned 40 and on Christmas Day, Tonia's birthday, Andy proposed and of course the response was a resounding YES, even though she couldn't actually see the ring for mascara in her eyes! For little under a year now Andy has been fighing cancer of the oesophagus with Tonia by his side every step of the way - a total dream team. But last month, they got the news everyone dreads to hear: you're losing the fight. The cancer has spread to his bones and liver and they now face a reality that I cant even bring myself to articulate.
So now they must embrace and enjoy every minute of each other they have - and we can think of no better way than to go ahead with the wedding they both dreamed of. The issue is we have only just over a week to pull it all together, and funds are tight. The main thing we would like to use this money for is a band and a photographer (and any other bits for decoration). It's most important to us that we can help Tonia and Andy create some magical 'forever memories' in the presence of their family and friends. Rather than being a solemn event, we want this to be a day blessed with love, laughter and togetherness - something Tonia and Andy deserved a lifetime of.
