We are a team of of 3rd and 4th graders from Southborough, MA. We are competing in the 2014 Destination Imagination ("DI") challenge called Tension Builds.
We won our region and finished first in the state for our age group! We need your help to make it to the global finals in Knoxville, TN to compete against the best teams in the world.
DI is a non-profit program that offers a set of problem solving challenges for kids that encourage creativity and teamwork in the STEM disciplines. For our challenge we had to build a structure using only glue, wood, and fishing line. Our structure had the 2nd highest weight held ratio in the state, incuding even high school teams.
We also created a really cool play based on the American revolution. Tension builds during the war and is resolved when the British surrender. We get scored on our site-assembled prop, two team choice elements, and our structure.
We'll keep you posted on how we do at globals.
