Steve's Cre8ifsage Cancer Fund

Hello Friends and Family...

I am starting this page for my friend Steven Sage a.k.a. Cre8ifsage, who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of stage four carcinoma in his lymph nodes on December 23rd of this past year. The doctors gave him a 50/50 shot at beating this disease IF treatment were to begin immediately. After spending Christmas eve giving this unfortunate news to his family, Steven spent the next few weeks shuttling between hospitals and doctors, before a treatment plan of weekly chemotherapy paired with daily radiation administered over seven weeks could be recommended. After this he will be re-examined to determine if more treatment is needed. Then his doctor dropped another bombshell on him, prior to beginning any treatment he would need dental surgery to remove seven teeth that were either damaged or had older fillings. If he did not, the radiation might cause osteonecrosis that could result in the removal of his jawbone. Without any insurance or means to pay for the work needed, finding a dentist was arduous at best, but after a couple of months and with the help of McAuley Support systems, a dentist was found to perform the extraction and Steven could finally begin treatment for his cancer.

Now entering his third of seven weeks, Steven's body is not responding well to the treatment. Side effects that normally do not appear until around week four began to manifest almost immediately and have steadily grown worse. This, along with the loss of his teeth and the rising tide of hospital bills and other costs associated with his cancer have left him weakened, despondant and seriously considering stopping his treatments.

In the four years I have known Steve, he has always treated me as a member of his family. Never failing to pick me up when I was down. Reminding me to see the hope when it seemed there was none. Birthdays and holidays are big events to him and he always goes out of his way to make everyone else around him feel special. I cannot count the times he has put a smile on the face of a total stranger having an obviously bad day. Watching my friend, my brother, battle this cruel disease, seeing his smile, once so readily available fade and disappear is heartbreaking and unbearable.

So now it is my turn to give a hand to someone that has done so much for me. I ask you, my friends and family, to please help me put a smile back on Stevens face. Any contribution you can make to help ease some of the massive financial burden of this disease can help him focus on his recovery instead of the long road ahead. All money raised will go directly to cover Stevens rising medical costs. If you are unable to donate, remember that a prayer can be just as beneficial to someone in such great need. I will be updating this frequently and I hope to show it to Steve soon, he does not yet know I am doing this for him as I would like to build it up a little first so he can see how much he is loved. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.Thank-you all very much,
Theo
