I apologize for not following up for some time, but I wanted to update you and let you know that your donations were used to create the Jiwon Lee Memorial Fund at Columbia University Dental school. Jiwon was passionate about organized dentistry and considered it a great honor to serve on the national board of ASDA. Debt is just one of the many issues facing dental students today and your generous donations will help Jiwon's legacy carry on and support generations of future dental students.
As the holidays approach and many of you head home to spend time with your families, our family hopes you cherish what time we may have together. Pain and loss are unfortunately things all of have to experience. I hope and pray that with each painful experience we gain clarity and perspective, making strides toward a better tomorrow, and are not overcome by grief or anger.
Maybe like me, you think about Jiwon everyday, or another lost loved one. I share with you a verse I found a lot of encouragement from from one of my Pastor's sermons - "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. (Hebrews 12:1 NIV)" I am sure Jiwon is with that great hosts of witnesses cheering for you and I to faithfully complete the tasks set before us. Until we meet again, we love you always Jiwon!
Lastly, If you would like to make further contributions to the memorial fund in the future. Please contact Geraldine Connors at email@example.com or 212-342-5612
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart,
Thank you again for all your prayers and support. As a final push before Monday's ceremony, please e-mail your favorite memories of Jiwon to firstname.lastname@example.org. We plan to post these memories on the walls of the Auditorium for people to reflect on as well as use them to create a book for the family.

Hi Everyone, I know you are all wondering what the current situation for Jiwon is... Unfortunately, there are still no definitive updates. The NYPD is continuing their investigation as is our private investigator. I know this time is very frustrating for all of us... We feel powerless and want to be able to do something/anything! I ask that you continue to pray for Jiwon's safety and well-being. We continue to hope and pray for the best. Our family thanks you for your prayers. It is only by your love and God's support that we are managing as well as we have during this difficult period.
Hello everyone, your support has been overwhelming and our family is touched by your generosity. I would like to inform you that we have started working with Irma Rivera, a former NYPD homicide detective, and are hoping that new developments will be made in the case.
Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers. I pray that in this time of hardship we will rely on God and the comfort of community for strength, wait patiently in prayer with hope, and passionately love those around us. God bless you all.
Jiwon Lee is a wonderful student, friend, mentor, sister, and daughter. She was recently the President of the American Student Dental Student Association and is currently at 4th year at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine. Many of you have had the pleasure of spending time with her and getting to know her. I hope her wit and playful sense of humor has in some way brightened your day on multiple occasions. We are deeply saddened by the recent events, but know we will see Jiwon again someday. At this time, we are planning on using this money to create some sort of loan or scholarship to honor Jiwon. We thank you for any contribution you may be able to make. If you are not able to give, your thoughts and prayers will also be appreciated... The Lee Family thanks you for your support during this difficult period.
Deepest sympathy from Columbia College of Dental Medicine's ASDA chapter and Student Government Association. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. We miss Jiwon dearly and will continue to be inspired by her every day.
