We at Level Road Runners believe that running connects people on the most basic level. Connection leads to support, support leads to independence and self-confidence. The road is our equalizer, sweat knows no income bracket.
Level Road Runners was founded on the belief that running unites people on the most human level - and equal level - free of judgment, barriers, and stereotypes.
We work directly with local shelters, transitional housing, permanent support housing and agencies that work directly with low-income individuals. All runners participate voluntarily.
Resident runners connect with volunteer runners during bi-weekly runs, fostering a relationship built on respect, support and teamwork. All runners commit to showing up on time, ready to participate, supporting their fellow runners and respecting themselves.
Through the act of running, training, supporting oneself and teammates and emotional transformation transpires. All runners (rich or poor) feel recognized, appreciated and supported. Running offers ALL of us the opportunity to redefine ourselves.
Level Road Runners supplies ALL of the running gear a participant would need. Shoes, shirts, shorts, socks and sports bras.
We are in the process of becoming a 501 (3) c, paperwork is in, and we are awaiting approval. Once approved, I will send tax deductible reciepts to all individuals who donate.
We are in it for the long run. Removing barriers (gear), offering support, and showing up.....we will empower runners around Olympia and hopefully our reach will grow.
