Every year my daughter Bella chooses a charity to support for her birthday and we throw Bella's Birthday Bash for Charity in support of her goal!

Rather than asking for gifts she asks for donations to the charity. Last year we raised $3,600 to build a playground in Guatemala. This year she's chosen The Family Place, the only day time shelter for homeless familes in St. Paul, MN. 

We throw a party for kids that are local and all Bella asks for is a donation. The Family Place is re-doing their program for children and they need lots of materials. All proceeds raised will support the creation of a new Montesorri program at The Family Place.

We are blessed to have so much and through this yearly effort Bella is learning that a lot of people coming together, each doing a small part, can do amazing things. The video shows her talking about why this is important to her:
