March for Meals / Meals on Wheels
The Littleton Area Senior Center (LASC) will be participating in the annual March for Meals campaign that is sponsored by the Meals on Wheels Association of America which seeks to raise awareness of senior hunger through community action. Last year and in addition to the meals served in the dining room, the LASC delivered over 36,000 meals to the area's homebound. With this meal came a safety check and a smile that served as a lifeline to seniors of limited mobility.
Keep the meals rolling and join the LASC when they host a 5k walkathon on Saturday May 17th. This six-county event will kick off with a pancake breakfast starting at 8:00. Registrations begin at 9:00, and the first 200 people to register for the walk will receive free t-shirts. The day includes music, a BBQ lunch, a chili cook-off, a carwash, prizes, vendors, giveaways, and fun for all ages.
