Sista's of the Hood is a not for profit 501 C 3 organization that has been in existence since 2003.
We are dedicated to this mission of provided a holistic approach to self sufficiency. We give hand ups, its our passion to serve the people. If its nothing but $5.00 help us to help someone else. The need is great.
We are in Chicago and as you know we are dealing with some serious issues here in the city. We work diligently to serve the community, (veterans, youth, seniors, ex-offenders,etc). We provide much needed items to help sustain in everyday life such as, toiletries, coats, toys, children clothes.
We assist ex-offenders in getting them acclamated back into society. These needs are great and because of funding being cut tremendously we are limited in our reach. We have been forced to leave the location in which we housed our organization.
We provide programming such as Anger Management, Financial Literacy, Women Empowerment workshops, Senior Resources, Computer Classes. We assist with helping those in need to attain housing through our linkages.
The need is great in these communities and we are asking for assistance in helping us expand our vision to help more people. We want to be an instrument in helping someone to think outside the box. To let them know there are still organizations that truly care and listen and try to assist them with there concerns.
We are working on moving to a knew location, and we need to be able to supply the community with some hope and help them to dream again. Let them know that all doors are not closed.
We want to empower women who feel like there are in it alone. Our veterans need housing to give them the security of having a roof over their head. To long have we talk and not walk the walk.
Help us to rebuild those in need, by donating to this worthy cause. As we move towards helping to help someone else.
These are the things that will help heal this city and if ever a time it was needed that time is now.

In addition, to the above efforts, we have been in existence for 15years as many of you know funding has been cut for most programs which leaves grassroots organizations at a disadvantage. Right now our program is self funded.
