I'm in Ignite which is a club that teaches girls how to be politically engaged and become leaders. IGNITE is taking 25 young women from across the country to Washington D.C.
this summer for a weeklong retreat. I had to submit a recommendation letter and write about a problem in my community that concerned me, after a very competitive selection of who will be able to go I was selected to attend. This washington trip offers the chance to meet with 10+ women Senators and Representatives, get trained on fundraising, public speaking, and issues advocacy, participate in a special briefing at the US State Department and more! For me to able to have this opportunity I need to fundraise, I've raised almost half of the money but I'm having trouble getting the rest and would appreciate any donations.
