Today marks one year since the accident. There have been ups and downs along the way. Good times and bad ones alike. Times of confusion. One thing that has never changed along the way: WE ARE STRONG. This situation has brought waves of different emotions to Chance and our family. Changes that will go on forever. As we look back on the past year, we are reminded of courage and strength. Chance has shown all of us what it means to be a fighter and to look into the face of adversity and say, "I will not give up." Chance strengthens us not only as a family, but as a community to be all that we can be. To never take anything for granted and to live everyday to the fullest. He has shown us what it means to lead by example in a time of confusion. Chance has worked so hard this past year and it has shown in his therapies and workouts. He has come a long way from last March and the road only gets brighter from here. He has always had this extraordinary work ethic, which he applies to everything in life. You can definitely see that by only being around him for 5 minutes. There are no limits to what he can accomplish in his life ahead. We also know that Chance and our family could not have done it without the love, support, and generosity of our local community and friends we have made over the years. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts with the support you have given Chance. Please join me in donating whatever you can, so that we can continue down the bright path that is in store for Chance.

Thanks for all the support you guys have been giving Chance and his family! We have been so uplifted from the kind words and prayers. Chance continues to go to therapy at school everyday and his strength is gaining! He has gained some more sensation and feeling in his lower area and is feeling better everyday. We need your help with getting chance to Florida this summer! He is going to Orlando in July for the Project Walk program for one month. Please spread the word and donate so that we can make this trip a huge success! Here as some photos of Chance recently
Hey everyone! Happy 2015! It has been WAY too long since our last post. A lot has happened and a lot of memories have been made. Thanksgiving and Christmas were a blast and this new year has brought in more hope and opporunity for our family. Chance has been making more progress as time has gone on, more feeling has come back to his lower area. He has been going through new therapy techniques and seeing what fits his needs as his recovery progresses. There are a lot of big plans in the future and we will need all the help we can get! I will start posting pictures and keeping everyone more updated as time goes on. Please take the time and donate, so that we can give Chance the opportunity to pursue his recovery. Thank you and God Bless
Hey guys! It's been a fun past week... filled with a wedding, football games, and a lot of family fun! The past two football games from Chance's school have proved to be hard fought, well deserved wins that have set new school records. Chance has been working so hard during therapy and in his classes. The therapists have been giving good reports about his progress and we are excited about what the future has in store for him. I will post pictures as I get them. Thanks for all the support and as always please donate when you can so that we can continue providing the treatments he needs!
Can't believe it has been almost a month since our last update! Life has become so busy with school, therapy, and the whole routine. Chance has been doing GREAT! We have been on the go every weekend going to his football games both away and at home. His football family is so supportive of Chance and they embrace him just like it was the first day of practice. We got to see his team play in the huge AT&T stadium in Arlington, TX (that place is huge!) and we have had a lot of quality time spent with him and his girlfriend Morgan. Therapy is going strong everyday and Chance has been showing great improvement every time he comes into the facility. I will post the pictures I can now and get more coming in to put on his page. We thank all of the people who show their support by wearing Chance strong bracelets & shirts! We also thank those who express their kind words of support and lift him in prayer. Please donate when you can so that we can plan Chances future medical treatments. As always thank you & God Bless
Things have been going great for Chance and his recovery. He is going to therapy everyday with his new doctor and he is showing great progress! He is getting settled into his new apartment and Miley (Chances pup) is loving the fenced in yard. Tonight Chance made his first appearance on the football field since his accident in Canyon, TX where Tarleton faces West Texas A&M. Chance was warmly welcomed and visited by all of his football brothers on the sideline... it was a special moment to see. We are thankful for all the support the team shows Chance. He continues to show progress and we have great expectations for him. Thank you for all the support and prayers, we are deeply appreciative of them. I am attaching a photo from the game... as well as a story written from Amarillo Globe news about Chance. Please continue to show support and donate to the page so that we can help pay for future medical expenses. God bless to all!

It's been too long since my last update. Everything went smooth of course with the Panama trip. Chance was very excited to be home and with all the familiar faces of loved ones. Since being back we have moved Chance into his new apartment in Stephenville. The place looks great and he is excited about having his own place again! Ha ha school has started and he is taking online classes, which is a blessing in its own. Chances dog (Miley) has a small yard to play in... plus it has it's own privacy. He started therapy with his new PT today as well. The facility was recently updated so it has a lot of neat stuff. We are all excited to see what this semester has in store for Chance. I will post new pictures as they come in. Thank you for all the support and all the prayers. Please continue to donate when you can, it is most likely that Chance will be going back to Panama for another round of treatment. Thank you and God bless
Today was the last day of therapy and injections for Chance! He powered through all the therapy and treatments and we are closing another chapter in Chances recovery journey. He has more feeling in his legs, and he can actually move them slightly! He has made huge progress and we have been so grateful for all the doctors and therapists here in Panama. We are more than ready to come home and see friends and family. Attached are some pictures of the medical staff and some friends we made down here. Thank you so much for all the prayers and support shown and we ask that you keep them coming as the next chapter of the journey begins. As always please continue to donate whatever you can so that future treatment can be possible. God bless
Home stretch! Chance has been working so hard with therapy and the treatments... and this part of the journey is near a close! Friday is his last day of therapy here in Panama, then we will be flying back to Texas saturday morning! It has been a long month. We have made so many friends and met so many great people down here and we wish them the best on their journey. We are so grateful for all the doctors and therapists who have worked with Chance down here. They are so nice and have been very informative and helpful along the way. We are very eager to get back home and see family and friends... Chance is ready ha ha. We will post pictures soon of all the great people we have met down here. Thank you for all the prayers and thoughts back home, we couldn't do it without them! Continue to lift Chance in prayer and to support him through the last part of this. Please continue to donate so that we can raise money for further therapy and treatments for Chance
Got out and about today! The weather was finally cooperative and the sun came out for us... so Chance went around the city and into the malls. It was interesting to see the differences in people and culture when we are down here. We walked around a total of two malls today! Chance was pretty tired when we got finished, and by some weird luck we got the same cab driver to take us home that brought us to the first mall! By nightfall it started raining a lot, which worked out perfect for our day. We got to enjoy Chances company and see him smiling and in no pain. It's very refreshing to joke and laugh with him and spend time with family. The city is big and we may try to go sight seeing tomorrow, so stay checked in! Thank you to those who made this trip possible and those who pray for Chance daily. Please share this and continue to donate for further treatments. God Bless!
Greetings from Panama! Chances brother Jake got down here last saturday to spend time with Chance and to help him with whatever he needs. The city is big and there is a lot of traffic here! It's like NYC, the only difference is that drivers will bump and push their way around others. It rains just about everyday... but only for about 30 minutes. The weather is about 80 degrees which is really nice. Therapy is going great! he has been through about 9 injections and IV's and the doctors are pleased with his progress! His therapist enjoys with him and they cover a lot of ground. Chance continues to get stronger and gain momentum in this fight and it's a blessing to see. The doctors are very polite and they enjoy Chances company. There are many others here at the therapy center and it is interesting to hear their stories and see their progress. Thank you for all the support and prayers and please keep them coming! Also be sure to continue to donate when possible to offset the financial burden. Chance wanted everyone to know that he is grateful for all the support and love shown toward him and his family. He also wanted everyone to know that he will be walking through those doors in no time!

Busy week! Chance has been doing aggressive therapy and he is getting his next injection tomorrow. He has been standing up with the help of nurses and lifts weights now. His side effects have gone down a lot too! The last injection didn't see much in the way of headaches or pain. Chance continues to inspire and warm the hearts of many from his strength and perserverance. He got to do some sight seeing the other day, visiting the infamous Panama Canal! The rain comes and goes just about everyday, but he doesn't mind. Please continue to pray for painless treatments and for great success. Also continue to donate when you get the chance, and spread encouraging words of Chances story to others. For gods will is beyond our comprehension and he has everything taken care of. God bless those who pray and support Chances recovery.
Update from Panama! Chance went through his first day of therapy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is right next to the ocean, which is Chances favorite part. The traffic is terrible! Literally it is like driving in a stock car race, mad yes the cars but each other! So far Chance has met two other families who have the same injury as Chance, one from Florida and one from Puerto Rico. The food is different, so Chnace found an Italian place that has pizza he really likes! Please keep Chance in your prayers, and continue to donate when possible. Also I have posted some pictures of the view from the hotel room
So here the news I was telling you about last update... Chance is going to Panama! No, not the city... the country. He will be going down there for a month to undergo stem cell therapy that will assist in his recovery and healing the affected area. We are so blessed to be given this opportunity, and we admire chances courage to proceed with this treatment. We ask that all of you please join us in prayer and support that all will be smooth and wish for a safe flight. I'm not sure how the internet and phone services work down there, but we will update from Panama as much as possible! Please contine to donate and spread this word to as many as you can. We appreciate all the support and love throughout this journey. #allheart #chancestrong
Fun weekend! Spent some time with family and friends... Even caught a Texas Rangers game! It was really hot (100°+) but he made it through the whole game! Chance has come a great way and has made tremendous progress... but there is more to go. This journey is not over and we must continue to support him and surround him with love and friendship. Please continue to spread the word of chance and his story and continue to donate if you can. Anything helps and it is appreciated beyond words! ~ALLHEART~
Half way through another week of therapy! Chance is getting stronger every time he comes in here. So strong in fact, that he has progressed through three different resistance tiers the last week! He is working so hard and it is paying off. Thanks for all the support shown thus far. BIG plans are in the near future and we need all the continued donations and support we can get! We will keep you posted on these plans as time gets closer
Yesterday was a fun day! We got out and had a nice dinner with some great friends celebrating their 25th anniversary. Chance had a great time and it wasn't too hot when we went outside. Big plans are in Chances near future and we need all the donations and support we can get. Continue to lift him in prayer. We can overcome this injury together with the power of our lord
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHANCE!!! Today is Chances 22nd birthday... he is going through therapy as strong as ever and is gaining more and more feeling in his legs as each week progresses. We are doing more research to see what other options science has to offer. We might take him out to see a movie tonight ;) Chance is such a blessing to our family. We are grateful for him and his leadership. Let's wish him a big happy birthday by donating $22 today in honor of his birthday! Thank you to all the friends and family who continue to support this recovery
Hey everyone! A lot has been going on lately with getting the finishing touches on Chances new room and therapy. He has entered week six of therapy and is doing great! He has been improving everyday and he is gaining strength. I tell you he is one tough kid, and he is more brave than anyone I know. They say that we are supposed to be strong for him to keep him upbeat, but I think it is the other way around. Chance keeps all of our spirits lifted from the determination he has to walk again. We are all so proud of him and we treasure every moment with him. Recently we got chance a new companion (her name is Miley) which is a golden retriever puppy. She is fun and is always getting into stuff in Chances room. This journey is far from over and I ask all of those who can to please donate so that we can continue in right direction. Thank you for all the support we have received! God Bless!
Week 3 of out patient rehab has begun! Chance continues to make great progress and he is getting stronger each and every day! He is gaining sensations and muscle twitches in his thighs and glutes! The therapists at the local rehab facility are also impressed with his strength gain and work ethic. He's a true fighter and the support we have received from friends and family has been such a blessing to our family. Chance works hard everyday to get to his overall goal and he will get there with the love and support that has continued to be shown. Thank you to those who have helped us in so many ways. Please continue to donate and spread the word to others so that we can conquer the financial burden this has brought. God Bless!
Chance has been doing great! We hosted a benefit a few nights ago and it was a HUGE success! So many people came out to support Chance it overwhelmed our family with joy. Our hearts are filled with such happiness for those who have helped along this journey so far. Chance is doing very good with his therapy, getting better everyday! He actually now is starting to swim in our pool at home. His will and determination is second to none and he provides inspiration to all of us. Thank you to the friends and family who have been there every step of the way. The medical bills are still building, so we ask that if you can donate please continue to do so. Chance WILL overcome this and we need your help to get him to the mountain top.
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Blessings for Chance fundraiser is this Friday!!! Please make time to come out this friday to the Boyd Community Center and support our efforts to offset the medical expenses accrued during this time. There will be live music, live/ silent auctions, and a spaghetti dinner. We thank all of those in advance for putting this event together. Chance is doing very good with his therapy and he is gaining some more use of his muscles around his waist and in his hand! Therapy is rigorous but thats no problem for Chance, he can handle it! He is very strong and his spirit is bright. Please continue to donate online if you can and spread the word to everyone you know. We can beat this!
Chance has come home from the Rehab Center!!! We received a big Easter blessing over the weekend, Chance was discharged from Baylor and now he is home for good! God is so good and we thank all of those who came to visit him while he was in Dallas and those who showed their support. Now we look to start the next chapter in Chances road to recovery which is the out patient therapy. He will be traveling locally everyday for now so that he can continue to receive the therapy he needs. We ask that you continue to donate if you can, since the gears have shifted over to the next phase and expenses will still be accruing during this time. We are still welcoming those who wish to visit Chance at our home in Boyd. Just contact us ahead of time and we will set something up. Keep praying and supporting Chance. #allheart #chancestrong
Great improvement from Chance day in and day out. He is going through therapy everyday now of course and now the Rehab center let's us take him home on the weekends to spend time with friends and family. There is a lot going on with remodeling of the house and Chances new room. It's really good to see him smile and getting to spend time with him is always fun. Chance is upbeat and he is diligently working toward his full recovery! Thanks to all those who show their support for Chance and we ask that you continue to support him in every way you can. Continue to lift him in prayer and continue to donate if you can. Our hearts go out to those who are making this process easier.
Spending quality time at home :)
Chance is doing great! He got to leave the facility this past weekend again to get some fresh country air in Boyd and to hang out with friends and family in his own home. He passed out as soon as he laid on the couch at home lol. Therapy is going very well, his sensations are improving and he enjoys everyday when he gets to swim. He says he is more then ready to start the next part of his recovery closer to home (he favors his own bed). Thank you all for taking the time out of your schedule to come visit Chance in Dallas! We appreciate it more than you will ever know. We still need to continue our efforts to raise funds, so donate if you can and spread the word to everyone. Thank you friends and family for all that you have done thus far!
Therapy is going well! He has been going through all the exercises with determination and he is on the right track. His favorite time of the day is when he gets to do the hydro-therapy in the pool. Now that its spring time it feels good to swim. We love all the visits from friends and family because it keeps everyone strong. We thank everyone who is involved with this recovery and I ask that you continue to lift Chance up in prayer and continue to donate and spread his story.
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
Today was a lot of fun! Chance got to get out and spend the day with his family. We attended a wedding of one of our closest childhood friends. He enjoyed getting some sun outside our home in Boyd. We spent a great amount of time sitting on the couch and visiting. All around a great day to see him smiling and enjoying himself. God is good and continues to bless Chance and get him stronger. I attached some pictures for you guys to see. Continue to keep him in your prayers and show your support him :)
We wanted to take a moment and send out a huge thank you to all of those who have shown so much love and support toward Chance and our family through this journey. We feel extremely blessed to know so many friends and family that have stepped up in times of difficulty that it overwhelms us with joy. We also want to thank those who have donated to the fundraisers in order to push off the burden of medical bills. Our goal is to get Chance back to 100% and his resilience and determination shown thus far is nothing short of amazing, it in fact is the image of CHANCE. He is making great progress everyday in rehab and the therapists have actually reduced his stay here in Dallas because of that progress. We love each and every one of you and we ask that you spread the word around so that we can gain more support for Chance during this new journey God has put us on. Again, a big thank you goes our to everyone. God bless! :)
First week of rehab is in the books! He has done great and all the staff have been saying Chance is one tough kid. He covered a lot of techniques and tasks this past week. It's been up and down and most of all it has been such a blessing to see how much ground he is covering. He smiles everyday and says he will beat this. That is the attitude you must have. He is resilient and has such a strong work ethic. Others that stay here say he is the hardest worker. We must keep in mind that God gives his greatest challenges to his greatest soldiers. I have no doubt that chance will come back 100%. I thank you all for continuing to lift chance up in your prayers and supporting him in this journey. I ask that all of those who can to donate to help ease that side of this battle. We love and thank everyone for showing their support. Please take a moment and share this so that chances support base can expand everywhere. God bless :)
Great progress being made in Chances recovery! The nurses let him outside to get some fresh air and stretch himself out. He was talking about all the things he plans to do and see when he completes the rehab. He is tough and a true inspiration when you see his determination and that smile. Keep up the good work brother! We are all together in this!
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6
Chance is doing great! He has begun rehab and is showing great signs of progress. The road to recovery has begun and we thank you for all the support and prayers shown thus far! We are so blessed to have so many friends and family who support Chance :)
Please show support for my younger brother Chance Wallace as he recovers from a major spinal injury.
During an annual family ski trip to Colorado Chance Wallace was in a terrible snowboarding accident on March 9th in which he shattered his C6 vertebrae. Chance was care flighted to St. Mary's Medical Center in Grand Junction, CO in which he immediately underwent emergency surgery. He spent several days in ICU and has since been transported via medical airplane to Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation in Dallas,Texas where he can be closer to home and begin his journey to recovery. The medical expenses continue to mount and this has been a life changing event for Chance and the Wallace family. Every little bit that we can give to support Chance will help to ease this traumatic situation. Your support and prayers are greatly appreciated. Chance, a junior at Tarleton State University, is a stand out athlete, a loving son, awesome brother, and caring friend. All of your donations will go directly toward his fight to overcome this setback, and we thank you in advance for your support.
Some of the expenses are as follows:
-Several days spent in ICU
-Medical transports within Colorado and back home to Texas
-Extensive rehab and therapy
-Cost of fuel, lodging, food
