Donations for 2 Educations

Tax deductible
Four-year old Laura and two-year old Julian have spent significant time living in an unstable environment riddled with domestic abuse. Their father began to abuse their mother around the time that Laura "“ the eldest child "“ was born. The father of Laura and Julian is no longer in their lives.

Angela realized she would need further education to secure gainful employment and support her family. She was fortunate to receive a departmental grant at George Mason University to study Chemistry. She plans on becoming a high school science teacher.

To support the developmental needs and mental health of children like Julian and Laura, Angela enrolled them in Main Street Child Development Center, which integrates licensed, on-site professionals with our preschool program. An Early Childhood Special Education teacher carries out developmental screenings, pre-interventions and special education services. Our social worker, who is also on-site, provides mental health support to both children and their parents.

Angela has had a hard time securing employment that pays anything close to substantial income. She works hard to earn minimal income and attends school full-time in an effort to support two young children on her own. She constantly frets about finances and her children's wellbeing. By providing scholarships for her children, we will alleviate stress on Angela and her children as well.

This campaign will fund much-needed scholarships for two-year old Julian and four-year old Laura, who will attend Main Street Child Development Center's early childhood education programs while their single mother attends college courses.

In 1973, Main Street Child Development Center was founded in Fairfax, Virginia. Since then they have prepared over 5,000 disadvantaged children for kindergarten, closed the achievement gap for low-income children, and promoted parent engagement among families. Their accredited, affordable and high-quality early childhood education programs target predominately low-income working families in Fairfax County, integrating developmental interventions, mental health counseling and enrichment activities into the schoolday. They further empower families by providing support services, adult education classes, and one-on-one parent consultation.

On behalf of Designers Insurance Agency, I want to personally thank you in advance for any donation you are able to make to support this lovely family.

Sincerely,
