The very existence of the David & Helen Getman Memorial Home is the result of the tremendous philanthropic mind and donations of the Getman Family. Throughout the years, the residence has been able to continue to provide quality services and care thanks to the many generous donations from local communities, organizations, and individuals. Today, the kind contributions of our friends and neighbors are needed more than ever. Every dollar of all grants or donations received will result in direct improvements to the resident's daily lives including operational enhancements, physical improvements and even supplementational of resident's monthly rents to ensure they can afford to stay in the home and receive quality care.
By supporting the Getman Home you are not only showing your gratitude for the mark each and every one of our residents have made upon our community, but your support affects every member of the community- Not just the ones who live at our Home.
How is that? In New York State adult homes are private pay. That is, there is no government subsidy available to help seniors who need these services to pay for them, aside from their own income. Therefore, if a resident requires these services, their options are significantly limited if they are low income. However, the Getman Home accepts residents who may only have their social security check as their only income.
Regardless of income, our residents receive three meals daily, snacks, a coordinated activities program, a private room, case management services, transportation, housekeeping, laundry, assistance with personal care and medication management.
From all our residents, current and past, thank you for your generosity in allowing the legacy of David and Helen Getman to live on.
