Disabled Queer Couple in Dire Straights

PLEASE READ MY MOST RECENT UPDATE AND/OR THIS LINK BEFORE DECIDING WHETHER OR NOT TO DONATE, THE SITUATION HAS GOTTEN WORSE.

My wife Aubrey (on the left) and I have recently moved to a better economic part of the country for us, and are doing our best to get settled with our four wonderful pets - two dogs, Ace and Olive, and two kittens, Toby and Quentin.  I've managed to get a good job and despite recently remving some abusive influences from our life, cutting off the only emergency source of money that we had, we're looking to be okay money-wise once we get our feet under us.

Unfortunately, due to the way my new job's pay periods work, despite starting on January 28th, I'm not getting my first paycheck until March 1st.  The check is $599, our rent, which is due the same day, is $597, my second paycheck isn't until March 15th, and we currently have about $3 to our name.  I'm sure you can see the problem with this!

While we are applying for SNAP benefits, unfortunately those will probably take at least a month to process, and in the meantime we're running extremely low on food and won't be able to buy more until the 15th.  That's where you guys come in.

I know there are a lot of people who need this kind of help right now.  I know a lot of people are struggling.  But if nothing else, our animals are going to run out of food in the next week, and unless we keep money back from our rent (risking late fees and my father-in-law, who had to cosign with us due to our non-existant credit/recent rental history, being contacted) we're not only not going to be able to feed ourselves, but we won't be able to feed our babies.

$200 is more than we should need, but having a buffer going into the second part of the month and the bills that will need paying will be helpful and enable us to better get things to a balanced state.  The money will mainly go to food - for us and the animals - as well as putting a bit more gas in the car so I can continue to get to work.  Anything left over will go to helping pay our electric, internet, and renter's insurance bills.

I know everyone's struggling right now, but if you have even a couple of dollars to spare, we would really appreciated it.
