Basketball Camp 4 unprivileged Student Atheles

Go fund me drive for the 2nd annual Iba Camara Summer Camp(ICSC) ICSC is an organization created by Iba Camara with its main purpose to provide school supplies and basketball equipment to underprivileged young student athletes in Dakar, Senegal in West Africa. Last year, I was able to conduct a two day basketball camp in Dakar for 60 kids(30 girls and 30 boys). I was able to provide fun and basketball instruction and with the help of generous donors, I was able to provide T-shirt’s, lunch and basketball equipment(basketballs and shoes). I am hoping to make this years camp even better and bigger. This cause is very personal to me because I was just like these young people a few years ago. Growing up in Senegal, life is not easy. I loved playing sports especially basketball, but I couldn’t afford socks, let alone basketball shoes. When I first started playing basketball, my sister’s friend gave me a pair of running shoes that had belonged to her older brother. The shoes didn’t fit me(they were too big), but I was so grateful to have them. A few months later, I was invited to a basketball camp put on by a professional basketball player. At the end of camp, I was one of a few lucky kids to get a brand new pair of shoes! That moment meant the world to me and changed my life. I have great great opportunities in my life through basketball. I was able to travel to the United States to go to high school and college. I want to give some young people the same opportunity I was given. With your donation, I can help young people do what they love and perhaps achieve their dreams.
