Fahrenheit Books Moving Fund

Fahrenheit Books is a workers co-operative, and Middlesbrough's only independent bookshop. Over the last two years, we have become part of Middlesbrough's cultural landscape and have plenty of regular customers and friends in the community.

We recycle old books and stop them from being pulped and thrown away, and ensure they are used for a social benefit. We are also a distribution and collection point for the Teesside Socialist Clothing Bank and are in discussion with a number of other good causes locally.

We also plan to open an honesty cafe in our new premises, and to provide free spaces for local political, creative and social justice groups.

However, as we're outgrowing our premises, we would like to relocate to a larger unit, allowing us to expand our diverse and interesting stock, and provide better spaces for our community, and the costs of this are higher than we can afford.

This is why we are appealing to our friends, supporters and anyone who would like to see a thriving cultural scene in Middlesbrough to help us achieve this dream. So please, whatever you can donate, no matter how small or how large, will be put to good use providing a creative and useful space for the community.
