Help with Ludwig's Medical Care

I have had two cats, Ludwig and Lise, since January 2010. They did not have the easiest start to life (awful home situation), and I adopted them when they were four years old. They have been loved and spoiled rotten since I've been their catmom, and they have gotten me through some really emotionally and mentally trying times.

A few days ago Ludwig wasn't eating his normal amount. Then this morning, February 6, he just didn't seem himself, so off to the vet we went. He didn't seem that off, just a little lethargic, so I thought I was just being overprotective. The vet decided to run some blood panels just to be safe.


This afternoon the results came in, and Ludwig's urea, creatin, and phosphorus are through the roof. He spent the evening getting fluids injected, and tomorrow he's going in to have fluids pumped in intravenously while they run more tests. On the first day alone, I spent one thousand dollars on care and tests and forecast far more than I can afford.


I know everyone says how wonderful their pets are, but these two little tuxedos are truly special. They were mistreated in their youth, and it has taken four years of love and attention to properly socialize them. Their reciprocated affection has gotten me through illnesses, deaths, and traumas, and I honestly don't believe I would be here today without them. They deserve the best care possible no matter what we find. Please help me give little Ludwig the care he needs badly and help Lise keep her beloved brother well.
