Bring Boulders to Bowling Green!

The Bowling Green Riverfront Foundation's mission is to turn the neglected riverfront into a human-powered recreation supercenter called the Barren River Outdoors Center. We need your help!

Our next step is to get vertical, by climbing! We would love to install five boulders in the field along the river for kids of all ages.  


Climbing is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, and the closest access to decent climbing for Bowling Green is hours away in Tennessee or the Red River Gorge in eastern Kentucky. We can solve that by creating a bouldering garden in the BROC, surrounded by the awesome Low Hollow Trail. These are so much fun, you hardly realize you're getting a total-body workout.


The Access Fund, climbing's preeminent advocate, just released a report on the booming popularity of urban climbing !  These boulders are custom built, concrete structures that require very little maintenance and a ton of fun.
