Help Ollie play again!

Please help Ollie play again!

Ollie is a handsome boy that looks like he wears a tuxedo; he loves to run and play fetch but also loves to cuddle. It breaks my heart seeing him in pain and not being able to climb and play fetch like he used to. Yes, a cat that plays fetch. He can't do these things now though because of his knee.

I took Ollie to the vet on January 6th, 2014 because he had been limping on his back right leg. The vet took some x-rays and informed me that he had a grade 3 luxating patella which means that his knee cap is constantly dislocating. It can cause severe arthritis if not fixed soon; Ollie is only 3.5 years old and doesn't deserve the pain that arthritis can bring.

This is one of the x-rays that the vet took, if you look at his right knee (your left) you can see a floating white circle. That circle is his knee cap.

This second x-ray shows his left (your right) knee cap sitting in the correct position while his right knee cap is painfully dislocated.

I'm a full-time student taking 6 university classes, between paying rent and bills I cannot afford Ollie's surgery.

From what I understand, luxating patella is very uncommon in cats, it's almost always a genetic disorder. I adopted Ollie from the SPCA 3 years ago this month, he's a very loving cat that loves to cuddle underneath the blankets and he loves to have conversations. He's not quite himself now that he can't run around, please help to bring him back to his normal self.
