My name is Cierra Conwright, and I am honored to have been nominated to attend the congress of
future medical leaders. This nomination is truly a great opportunity, as it
will surely provide me with a wealth of knowledge and insight into the world of
medicine. I am eager to interact with high achieving students who have also set
goals to challenge themselves in pursuit of lifelong learning. I look forward
to contributing my enthusiasm and positive attitude to this conference, and I am anxious to be a part of this unique experience.
My interest in the medical field developed at a young age, and has grown throughout my high school career. I am intrigued by the complex "world of medicine" and passionate about helping others; which makes this opportunity invaluable. Currently I am involved with the Academy of Medical and Health Sciences at Mount Miguel High School located in Spring Valley, CA. Being a member of this academy has provided me with the opportunity to take medically related science courses, attend college fairs, participate in volunteer work, and given me the chance to be a participant in hospital internships. The academy has exposed me to several aspects of medicine and provided me with advantages that an average high school student does not receive. I look forward to sharing my experiences from the conference with my peers.
Aside from my academic endeavors, I am also involved with activities including varsity softball and Link Crew. Link Crew provides me with the opportunity to mentor freshman and sophomore students who are in need of academic, emotional, and mental support. I also lead other students and help motivate them to make our campus a safer and more positive environment. My role as a captain on the softball team challenges me to again motivate, and inspire my teammates to maximize their potential.
I am looking for donations to help me have the best experience possible during this trip. Any amount will truly be a help. I am excited to attend the congress of future medical leaders and look forward to learning about different perspectives in the field of medicine. My pursuit of becoming a physician will only be strengthened by this once in a lifetime opportunity.
