A very special thank you directly from Mat & Brandi - "The family of Kaitlyn Mumm would like to thank each and everyone of you that sent monetary donations, thoughts, and the continuous prayers. We are very thankful for the community we live in and the amazing support to help us through this difficult time. Though we miss Kaitlyn very much; we feel comforted knowing she will be our Guardian Angel always watching over us.
Thank you again and God bless. "
Just a quick update. Kaitlyn's funeral arrangements will now be Tuesday (visitation) from 4-8 and Wednesday (Funeral) with the time to be determined.
Officially over $23,000!!! Iowa Valley and Marengo have represented well.
UPDATE FROM MAT - "Brandi just got chest tube pulled out. Going home Sunday! Need a day or two ALONE at house to unwind from this week. Thinking services will be Wednesday and Thursday. Thanks a million times for the love, thoughts and prayers!"
Please be considerate of their space and allow them to be alone for a few days. Thanks!
The support is still coming in. All of you are amazing. $22,280 and climbing. We have only counted one of the bank deposits, so the amount is probably well more than that. I haven't received any new updates from Mat on Brandi's condition, but keep her in your prayers!!
Brandi Update - I received a text from Mat.
"The hole in her lung has gotten smaller by almost half in one day. No more IV. The support and love from all has just been UNBELIEVABLE."
I continue to be amazed by the love and support of the community. As of 01/16/14 at 1:30pm YOU have helped raise almost $22,000!!!! Thank you so much for your continued support, prayers and "shares".
Wow!!! I received notification that the bank received a $1,000 donation. Absolutely incredible!!! The total as of 8:50 am is now showing $17,505!!! Thank you so much for your love and support. Keep the prayers and "shares" coming!!! Hoping to have an update on Brandi's condition at some point today.
I just want to give you an update. The Cedar Rapids Gazette did a story this morning and did make mention of "fraudulent" type activity that appeared on the donation page yesterday. We did receive notice from GoFundMe early yesterday that they noticed an "unverifiable" email address that had made multiple donations during the night. Their team had noticed by the time we contacted them and had already addressed the issue, removed the donations and blocked the user. I spoke to two different people from GoFundMe and they DID assure me that the site is secure and encrypted to not allow any outside access. We apologize with events recently in the news if this made any of you uncomfortable. Rest assured that I have done a lot of homework (through the Better Business Bureau and other online resources) on the security of the site and the reputation of the security team before using the site for any fundraising campaigns that I have done in the past.
Again, the Mumm family and the Iowa Valley Class of 1998 thank you for your donations and ask for your continued prayers in this difficult time for the family.
Because of each and every one of you, the Mumm Family Fund has reached one of the "most popular" searched and raised funds in the country. You are all such a blessing to this family. THANK YOU!!!
WOW!!!! $15,000 reached!!! What an amazing accomplishment but if you want to still contribute, don't be swayed away from it. $15k is just a GOAL. It is not an end all. If you find it in your heart to make a donation, please consider it. This family will need financial assistance for months to come.
We also received an update on Brandi's condition. As of last night, she still has the chest tube in and is in a considerable amount of pain, but making headway in her recovery. When the doctors give the OK, they will remove her chest tube and will be allowed to go home 24 hours later. Please keep the prayers and positive thoughts heading to Iowa City for both of their emotional and physical healing.
Those of you who have sent in checks, we will gather that information as well and post the "offline donations" when we can. Thank you so much!!!
Oh my goodness!!!! What a great support system we have. Keep up the great work. We are $250 away from our goal for the on-line fundraising!!! Keep in mind that this doesn't even count the people who have so wonderfully sent in checks to the bank memorial fund!!!
Wow!!! What a last 24 hours. You all are truly amazing. Here is an update from Dustin (Brandi's brother)
" Mat and Brandi are very grateful for all of the support. Update on Brandi is monday they hope to take out chest tube. Then we are hoping for release from hospital by middle to end of week. You don't know how much this is lifting there spirits from all of the support."
I have increased our goal with the hopes that you will spread the word to your co-workers as you head back to work today. May God Bless every one of you!!
Thank you to everyone who has made donations so far. I spoke to Cody Knapp a little while ago and he said that Matt and Brandi are overwhelmed by the support that everyone is giving. To maximize the amount that we can give to their family, I have decided to shoot for the stars and raise the "goal" to $10,000. With the cost of funeral expenses and the long term treatment that Brandi will be receiving I think it will be best to go big. Please continue to spread the word!!
