650 miles cycle for Alzheimer's

Inspired by the London to Paris bicycle challenge I dreamed up one of my own. I want to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease which has affected my grandmother and cost great deal of emotional pain from my mother and the rest of my family. We love her and we visit her when we can, but she doesn't recognise us. That hurts but the memories we have of her before she suffered from the disease bring us hope that she might remember some little things now and then. I want to support Alzheimer's Research UK to make a difference to many other families who have loved ones affected and make sure that there is support in place for them.
The challenge will be a gruelling 650 mile cycle over 10 days from Worthing to the city of Aberdeen in Scotland. I've given myself 4 months to prepare and contacted one of my best friends to be my companion. Even as I write this, the challenge is yet to sink in, but as a keen cyclist and someone who is extremely determined I will give it my all and hopefully return on the other side with a sore bottom, bugs in my hair and teeth, aching muscles and overpowering desire to take a break from cycling, for a week or so at least!
