Gracie's Mommy and Daddy need your HELP!

Please post this on your Facebook wall and share with your family and friends... Some very loving people need a helping hand this holiday.

Hello, my name is Kathy Perez. Some of you may know who I am, and some of you may not. I am Mary Resenbeck's sister and Doug Resenbeck's sister-in-law. My sister just had a baby named Grace Joy and the entire family is elated. Unfortunately, my sister hasn't had time to enjoy her beautiful baby because she is very ill. Gracie was born on September 26th and Mary got sick on October 31st. She has diverticulitis and she is not responding to her normal treatment regimen. The doctors upped her medications when she was admitted to the hospital the first time on November 16th, which did not heal the intestinal wound. So, they discharged her with stronger antibiotics and more powerful pain medications so she could finish healing the diverticulitis infection at home and be with her precious baby. She worked very hard on eating the right foods and taking the medication as prescribed, but it didn't work. Mary began getting worse and the pain became so excruciating the pain medications didn't give her relief at all. She began vomiting profusely and Doug took her back to the ER on the 18th of December. They admitted her once again and gave her another CT scan. It turns out that she could have died if Doug did not MAKE her go to the hospital. She developed a condition called c-diff from all the powerful antibiotics. The antibiotics that were used to treat the diverticulitis killed all the bacteria in her colon. Well, it also killed the good bacteria which allowed the c-diff germ to populate and infect her entire intestines which further infected her diverticulitis, which could burst and kill her. The doctors are using a cocktail of meds that will treat both problems. She hasn't eaten in weeks and the doctors say she is malnourished and low on potassium. Watching my sister suffer and go through this is beyond difficult. The doctors believe that she will be in the hospital a lot longer than ever before. Her beautiful baby Grace is only three months old and Mary can't hold her, touch her, or kiss her sweet face. It is so unfair because Mary wanted this baby so badly and endured a very difficult pregnancy to bring her into this world. She won't be able to celebrate the holidays with her baby, older children, or her extended family and it is killing her and also all of us too. She had to stop breastfeeding Grace and that is another great sadness because that was something she was committed to doing for a year. Gracie has been removed from her mothers arms because of this illness and she can't be with mommy until the c-diff is cured. Even after the c-diff is cured Mary isn't out of the woods yet. She must then be bed ridden until the diverticulitis infection heals and then they will operate to removed the damaged colon and reattach it. That will mean more recovery time in the hospital which is absolutely devastating. The complications from Mary's conditions are so serious that her husband Doug has not left her side despite the fact he could catch the c-diff bacteria while caring for her. He is a devoted husband and father and he spends his days meeting with doctors and surgeons and talking with nurses, but most importantly taking care of Mary and keeping her spirits high. She is depressed and feeling low. When he isn't doing that he is taking care of their two older children, Douglas and Alexis. This has taken a toll on the entire family because Doug is unable to work due to this situation, and when he is not working, there is no pay. They went from a two income family to a no income family. They do not have savings and every day Mary is in the hospital another important bill is not getting paid and they are sinking further and further into debt. They have health insurance, but it doesn't cover all the hospital expenses, which adds to an already horrible burden. This the scariest Christmas our family has ever had. Mary and Doug will be spending the holidays in the isolation unit of the hospital away from their loved ones. They are very prideful people and don't like asking for help, but I am here to do that for them. I set up this go fund me account on their behalf to help them get through this horrible time. I know they are loved by so many people and my hope is that with this account they will get the relief they deserve. They really need peace of mind that their home, car, household bills, and every day expenses are taken care of and with a new baby the incurring expenses add up quickly and the bills are piling up fast. Would you consider donating to this wonderful family? Anything will help, even if it is only five dollars. If you are unable to donate, please keep them in your prayers. They need hugs, kisses, and all the well wishes they are able to receive. The loving energy and prayer circles are working in a positive way. Mary tries to be a trouper. She pretends she is okay and that it isn't as bad as it is, but it is actually devastating. She always puts on a happy face and I admire that, but right now they need a helping hand. If you would like to contribute to the fund, please do so, it will never be forgotten and will be greatly appreciated. Help this family get back together so they can continue to teach, act, sing, and dance their way into the hearts of many. If you could support them it will be the Christmas miracle they deserve. Thank you so much.
