Run for India

July of 2015, I was in invited along for an amazing opportunity to travel to India on a trip to learn from an indigenous-led organization called the Society for Transformation, Education, and Progress (STEP). While staying at the STEP Campus in a small village, myself, along with other Canadian team members got to see what life was like for millions of people in India. Every experience was authentic! The people we encountered in India touched our hearts greatly, and we were blessed to share about life with them and see the joy that they experience with what little they have.

Now, I have an opportunity to travel back to the same area in March of 2016, as much more is about to take place.

STEP's goal is to transform the lives of destitute, poor, downtrodden, outcasts and marginalized people through holistic actions in Northern Indian states. Join me in supporting them as we prepare for an event unlike anything ever seen in the entire region!

We will be organizing a 10km race, along with a volleyball tournament for the local villagers and young people, as well as a childrens camp.

Children often are forced into labour at a young age and playtime or organized sports is a luxury not known to most villagers. If you are passionate about running, or sports in general, this is an amazing opportunity to give to those in need in a very tangible way. This event will surely benefit the quality and enjoyment of life for so many.

Your donation will help cover our costs as we travel to India, as well as provide funding towards the events we will be facilitaing during our two-week stay.

My fundraising goal is $3,000 for airfare, food and local transportation. Anything raised above this number will go directly for the events.

I will be running in the upcoming Salomon Valley to Peak Race, as well as the Victoria Marathon, in which I will openly accept donations towards this cause. Hopefully this adds a bit more excitement and opportunity to cheer me on!

It is also my intent to document and film our trip and events, and then share it with you upon returning to Canada. My hope is that you will be able to see how lives were impacted thanks to your help.

Please contact me if you have any questions regarding our trip or other ways in which you can contribute.
