This page is going to be live for about 24 hours more, so if you'd like to donate, go ahead! After that we're going to focus on withdrawing the accrued funds and getting busy with our budget for the many things we wish to accomplish for the Bryant Family! Thank you to everyone who has donated already and Merry Christmas! :-)

This is a fundraising effort for the horses in Bedford County recently made "famous" when one of them was tied to a telephone pole with no shelter. Three of the five horses are stallions and need to be gelded. One of the horses is an older mare (the other is an older gelding) who may be pregnant. The owners do not know if she is pregnant or when she may have been bred, so she needs to be examined by a vet to determine if she is pregnant and if so, when she may be due. She will need supportive care if she is, in fact, expecting, so the sooner we can learn this, the better. The horses' home needs to be vastly improved. The field is full of brambles, fallen trees and other hazards. The fence is currently two loose, low strands of barbed wire, which is dangerous and is causing the horses to cut themselves. These horses need, at minimum, a run-in shed for shelter, as well. All of the horses are in good weight and have been de-wormed and vaccinated, they are friendly and obviously have been treated well and have a good rapport with their owner. Waterproof blankets have already been donated for the horses and should be arriving soon. This is NOT an abuse case, this is a family who is doing the best they can with extremely minimal resources and could sincerely benefit from non-judgmental kindness. Thank you for considering them and this cause!

I knew what kind of man and family this was when he thanked 'God' before he thanked everyone else. Therefore, I know that God sent you to his aide, Katie. I believe with all my heart God knew this man's heart and he knew he needed to intervene to assist this family so he let 'Thunder' start acting up and had to be tethered to a telephone pole and that was the beginning of you, Katie, and the outpouring love people have supported this beautiful cause. God bless you, Katie, and the Bryant family and most of all, God bless 'Thunder' and his other 'horsey' family at Mr. Tyree's house. Now , Mr. Bryant and 'Thunder' can have a much deserved Christmas this year. God is Good.

Thank you ALL for this most amazing and generous outpouring of support! I can say with certainty that this could not be happening for a nicer, more grateful family. Merry Christmas!!

Katie, how did Mr. Bryant's horses make out during this ice storm? Did the blankets arrive in time?

I donated and challenge my facebook friends to do the same - be a part of the 'solution' not the problem. Please let the owners know I'm so glad they are getting the help (shelter, blankets, etc.) that they deserve. My mother always said 'out of bad comes good'. Thank you Katie Gardner for caring!

My other half Lisa and I met with these owners on Saturday at their home and they are true genuine animal lovers. The horses are sweet friendly and enjoy people. The "pasture" needs serious cleaning, even a bulldozer for ground clearing. We are helping them get the fence right, and will get 1 strand on a solar energizer. The biggest thing these people, and horses, need now is manual labor to clear the pasture! And that does not cost a dime to anyone interested in really helping!!

Way to go Katie! Your mom sent me here :-) Saw the owner interviewed on TV and my heart went out to him - obviously loves his horses and simply needs a helping hand and some sage horse care advice. Thanks for your kind heart. Donating now.

Okay. What is her name?

To clarify, I don't believe the money is going straight to the owners, but rather to the people who will be providing the services for the benefit of the horses.

I've known this woman for the past seven years and I can assure you, she will ONLY use the money for the good of these animals. I understand your concern about donating money to the cause, however, she has been working for the past two days to get things in order to help the owners with their needs for these five horses. You can see her interview on the WSET website.

What Is there to assure us he will use the money on the horses and not other things?
