Hello,
My name is Patrick and I'm fundraising to support the creation of my Boy Scout Eagle Project. I hope that after you read this you'll want to donate towards the project. I appreciate that you're taking the time to read about it.
Let me tell you a little about myself...I have been in the Scouting program since I was in 1st grade. I have learned so many things in Boy Scouts! I have gone on many camping trips with my troop, learning outdoor skills and have spent the past 3 summers teaching younger Scouts those skills in my job as a Boy Scout Camp Counselor. I am also very active in Unami Lodge One, my local Order of the Arrow lodge. I hold the position of Ceremony Chairman in Unami Lodge One.
Now for the details on my planned Eagle Project...
I plan to build an outdoor community area at my church, where I've been a member since I was a little boy. The outdoor area will have 8 benches to allow people to sit and enjoy the company of other community members. I also plan to replant the garden area to provide a more welcoming view.
I want the benches to last! They'll need to be made out of recycled materials to hold up against the weather. This will also allow me to help reduce our impact on the Earth.
This project will help me finish my life goal of becoming an Eagle Scout... but it won't be inexpensive. I estimate that the project will cost over $1,500. I hope to be able to break ground for my project by May 1st of 2014 but can't make plans to do so until I raise funds.
My fundraising efforts include babysitting, a Chik Fil A event, and a pancake breakfast. Someone told me about this website and I thought that I would try to raise funds here, also.
