Ed Lunnen is my 36 year old Uncle who is in need of our help. Over a month ago Ed was suffering excruciating abdominal pain. After visiting several doctors with no answers he went from California to Utah to have his mom help him find answers. The Sunday after arriving in Utah Ed collapsed in his house and was rushed to the hospital. They did an emergency surgery to find that his appendix had ruptured over a month prior. His entire abdominal cavity was filled with infectious fluid. The acid had burned holes in some of his organs and required a removal of a portion of his colon and intestines. Once home from the hospital Ed wasn't getting better. That is when he found out that he had STAGE IV COLON CANCER. To say the least he was devastated. What makes this story more tragic is that in 1998 his older sister Lisa gave birth to her first baby boy and that very day she was told she had an aggressive brain tumor. She lost her short battle less than a year later. If that wasn't enough in 2000 he lost his dad to a staff infection complicated by other illnesses. That same year Ed sat endlessly by his little sister Doree's side as she lost her short battle to blood and bone disease. Ed does not have health insurance and Ed has seen enough heartache in his life and needs our help. During this Thanksgiving season lets rally together to give him something to be thankful for and try to help him find something to look forward to as he begins his regimen of 6 months of chemotherapy.
