We live in a 50-year-old home, and our sewer line just failed in a rather dramatic manner. We have a reliable contractor who is doing all of the work.
The portion of the bill *not* covered by our homeowner's policy is now approaching $16,000 USD. I am hoping to raise a third of that via crowd-sourcing.
Those who know us will verify that we are trustworthy people, and that we are often the first to give a hand or some money to help with catastrophes when they strike in our circle.
As embarrassed as I am to make this request, I feel that I have to at least try.
