WHO WE ARE...
Almost Home is all about happy endings! On our pages and in our stories about the animals we take in, very seldom will you find yourself crying over an outcome and wishing you hadn't visited our site! We may get in animals that are older or injured or ones that have faced heavy-duty challenges, but once they are here they are on the road to a much better life!
This is not to say that we don't get our share of young, healthy, bright-eyed and beautiful creatures that are happily looking forward to living life everyday and are equally happy to move on into hand-picked adopted families we find for them, but OH! our hearts just melt for the older ones, the last call for ones at shelters and ones that come in through other dire circumstances that just have no other place to go. Truth be known, often times these are the best to adopt because they are so grateful to be wanted and cared for!
If they are shy, we are patient. If they are 'imperfect' in someone elses eyes, they are perfection in ours and we let them know it. Our hearts are huge...but we are often limited by a lack of funds.
Right now we are at a real low point and have had to stop intakes and concentrate on caring for the ones we have.

Allie is a quiet, gentle senior lady who has been in rescue since her owner passed. She is everything anyone who loves senior dogs could wish for! We are thinking she is perhaps a Greyhound mix, but that's just a guess. What she REALLY is is a lovely girl that needs a new home! Do you have a warm spot in your home/heart for her?
