Sweet Mr. Sunkist Needs Surgery

Recently my constant companion was showing signs of slowing down. Our normally peppy little buddy was lacking energy, had lost some weight and I noticed a lump on his right leg. He fussed at it and it bled a little, so I took him to the vet today. It turns out he has a tumor and the doctor says it needs to be removed as soon as possible before it gets worse and his whole leg might be lost.

The doctor told me that he seems to be in good health otherwise and is very well taken care of (But we knew that). He's a happy little guy. He loves chasing his bird toy and snuggling his catnip pillows in between naps. I'm an artist who works at home and he likes to sleep next to me as I work. He always wants to be in whatever room I'm in. On sunny days he enjoys naps on my drawing table. He's so sweet and so easy-going. You couldn't imagine a better little buddy.

I want so much to see him up and playing again. He's a kitty who loves his life and we enjoy his company. He needs the operation and he needs some tests, but his prognosis seems very good. I hope he'll be happy and healthy and sharing our lives and... well, everything, for many more years. We are putting in as much as we have, but we don't have enough.
