Send me to serve Syrian refugees

Donation protected

I have been given an incredible opportunity to travel to Jordan in November to serve Syrian refugees. I am inviting my friends and family to join me in this adventure.

What will we be doing on this trip? Great question. Our activities will focus on being of use to those working on the ground with Syrian refugees in and around the Zaatari camp. We may not get the chance to enter the actual camp, but regardless there is much need that we will be of use anywhere in the area. We hope to interact with refugees (share meals, tea and coffee as we hear stories and tell our own), play with children (they are very bored as you can imagine- so tutoring and doing arts and crafts projects is definitely part of the plan) and being present (just being there sends a huge message that despite how forgotten and alone they feel, Syrians are dearly loved and important.)

Please watch my video, as my heart for this area and its needs are expressed. I truly believe that something beautiful can come out of the worst things in life. I invite you to adopt that mentality with me. I hope to be someone that can bring back a part of this world with me, so that you can understand and know it better. When we learn faces, stories and people, something wonderful happens- strange and unfamilar becomes dear and treasured.

I need prayer for this venture and you can check out my blog for more information on that: http://borninwater.wordpress.com/2013/10/09/invitation/

If you would like to give anything- even 5 dollars, believe that even that will help me and encourage me in this process. I am sure many of you know what it is like to pursue dreams that only seem to fade with the reality of "growing up", getting a real job and being practical. Sometimes, we need to embrace things that don't always make sense and say yes to our dreams. This trip is one of those dreams, becoming a reality for me with every passing day.

If you are curious as to the breakdown of the trip cost, I have shared it with you below. I believe in transparency!
