Help Kaleb get to New York City for follow up appointments with his urologist. Kaleb has a rare syndrome called OEIS, which is a multisystem syndrome.
OEIS is a rare syndrome that 1 in 400,000 infants are born with.
O is for Omphalocele
E is for Exstrophy of Bladder
I is for Imperforate Anus
S is for Spinal
Kaleb was born with all of these as well as a multitude of other medical issues that stem off of the above conditions. Kaleb has had several repairs but will always have issues as a result of OEIS and will always have to follow up with specialists on a regular basis. He is a brave little boy who has a lot of patience with all of the medical procedures and needs he endures daily.
In Kaleb's short life he has endured 25 surgeries and procedures and will have several more.
He has been very fortunate that all of his care has been in Cincinnati, but recently we learned that his urologist, Dr. Alam, who has taken care of all of Kaleb's urological needs, has decided to transfer from Cincinnati to New York City. In having complete trust and confidence in Dr. Alam we are going to continue to follow Dr. Alam for Kaleb's urological care, which means traveling to New York a couple times a year, and we will use Cincinnati for local urological emergencies.
