Help a Man Who Saved Lives for Me

Donation protected
Roshon and his team saved lives and protected thousands of patrons at my music festival, please help me to put an end to the cycle of debt and impending home foreclosure I have inadvertently put him through. We realize our goal is substantial, but any amount to help this situation is extremely meaningful.

In July of 2014, Roshon was having a hard night on the job. He and his team had just kept a girl from the brink of death and then watched as she was taken to the hospital. Luckily, she was fine, but this was just one story of community guardianship to come from that weekend; the weekend that Roshon and his team worked as Security and Medical staff at my music festival -  Gratifly Music and Arts Festival in South Carolina.

My name is Edwin, and Roshon is one of the hardest working people I have ever met in my life. I have seen him put on a smile to an injured patron or deal with a potentially dangerous situation in a calm and collected manner more times than I can count. It is no surprise with this opinion of him, and of his amazing team F.L.O.W, that we hired them to run Security and Medical services at my festival two years in a row.

Unfortunately, despite he and his team pulling 20 hour shifts for a week to keep the patrons of my event safe – I was not able to uphold and completely fulfill my contractual obligations with him.

I am a young businessman, and when it came time to pay out Roshon for his incredible work at my event, I was unable to do so (along with others), and furthermore he came out of his own pocket to pay his incredible staff, all of whom work equally as hard and are as good of people as he. FLOW is a powerhouse team of highly professional medical and security operatives for events of any kind. Roshon actually paid off his entire staff of 15 people. Now it has been a year since the event, and the snowball of problems caused by the lack of complete payment has put Roshon and his family at impending risk of home foreclosure. Please note that the amount requested represents a portion of the total needed, but we feel is an appropriate amount to ask of the public. We have been able to clear part of the total owed Roshon but are not able to do so quick enough, which has led to this campaign.

Every day this continues to get closer to foreclosure, and every day I work to try to end this cycle.

As a former producer and cofounder of Gratifly Music and Arts Festival and as a human being who is trying to care for his tribe I ask with all of myself that if you are part of the transformational celebratory creative culture of the Southeast or anywhere in the country, if you attended Gratifly, or if you are just someone who wants to help, that you please consider contributing to righting this wrong – to help me repay the incalculable energetic and monetary debt that I have with my elder and spiritual brother Roshon Walker. We need to make sure he stays in home and are doing everything we can to make it happen.

We hope to gather as many donations as possible here for Roshon, every dollar helps!
